After welcome new and returning students to the 2026-2027 school year, Incentive held its annual Fall Retreat to forge new bonds and strengthen existing friendships. Having moved our camp venue to Stillwood last year, we were excited to return to a now familiar site. The teachers planned and led students through a number of team-building activities designed to encourage the to work together and challenge a variety of skills. We were also grateful to have Tsawaysia Spukwus back to share her knowledge of the differences between some of the plants in the Coast Salish lands that Camp Stillwood is located on, and those in the Squamish lands where our previous camp venue was found.
Thank you to the staff and the student mentors that put in the time and effort beforehand to plan the camp, then gave their energy and care to ensure the students had a safe and enjoyable camp experience. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive and we are already looking ahead to refine and plan camp for 2027.
Til then, please have a great start to the school year!
